Illustration Friday: Insect

Our family valentine, 2005. I started out designing a valentine for my son to give out at his class party. (Don't you just hate those store-bought ones?) Once his was done (the bee) I decided I had to do one for the whole family, too. I printed a few out, but emailed mostly. Friends and family got a kick out of it. (Or a buzz?)

Mosaic Mirror

I made this several months ago at a workshop. The instructor, Kathy Gano, has this huge sunroom/artroom in her home. It's stocked full of supplies. She does these workshops now and then... one Saturday for designing and glueing the pieces down, the next Saturday for smearing the grout stuff in between. Had a blast doing this and hope to do it again soon.

Illustration Friday: Song

This is a stretch I know... more graphic design than illustration. But it's recent! A logo/business card I just did for a client (OK, my brother)... but hey, I wanted to post something and I don't think I'm going to have time to do something new this week.

Growing Hearts

This is my first punchneedle project. I wanted to do something very simple, to get the hang of it. Turned out pretty good... but I have to confess I did a little touching up in photoshop after I scanned it in.

Her shoes and purse match. Isn't that glamourous?

Illustration Friday: Cats

My first drawing for Illustration Friday. I've been checking IF from time to time for several months, but this is the first time for me to contribute.

I'm glad the theme was 'cats'—I'm working on some illustrations for a children's magazine, and the story is about two little kittens, Splish and Splash. I'm still working on roughs, so I don't know what the kitties will end up looking like... but it was fun to take a break and play with the colors.
